How Ceramic Dinnerware Is Made
Production Process Explained
Ceramic dinnerware production is a multi-step process that requires precise control, experience, and quality management.
Below is an overview of how ceramic dinnerware is made in our factory, from raw materials to finished products ready for export.
1. Raw Materials Preparation
In our factory, ceramic production starts with carefully selected raw materials.
We prepare the ceramic body by mixing and processing raw materials to achieve the right strength, density, and smoothness.
Before forming, the materials are tested and adjusted to ensure consistency, which is essential for stable production and uniform product quality.

2. Forming Process
After material preparation, the ceramic body is shaped according to the product design.
Depending on the item and requirements, our factory uses different forming methods such as pressing or slip casting.
This step determines the basic shape, thickness, and structure of plates, bowls, cups, and other tableware items.
Each formed piece is handled carefully to maintain dimensional accuracy.
Before forming, the materials are tested and adjusted to ensure consistency, which is essential for stable production and uniform product quality.

3. First Firing (Biscuit Firing)
Once the shaped products are dried, they are loaded into kilns for the first firing, also known as biscuit firing.
This process hardens the ceramic body and prepares it for glazing and decoration.
Temperature and firing time are strictly controlled in our kilns to ensure stable quality and reduce deformation.

4. Glazing & Decoration
After the first firing, products move to the glazing and decoration stage.
In our factory, glazing is applied evenly to create a smooth and protective surface suitable for daily use.
Decoration processes may include decal application or other decorative techniques, depending on the product design.
Each decorated item is checked before entering the next firing stage.

5. Second Firing & Gold Decoration
For decorated items, especially gold rim or special designs, a second firing is required.
Gold decoration is applied by hand and then fired again at controlled temperatures to ensure adhesion and durability.
This step is critical for maintaining the appearance and performance of gold-decorated ceramic dinnerware.
6. Final Inspection & Packing
Before packing, all finished products go through final inspection in our factory.
We check appearance, dimensions, decoration quality, and overall consistency.
Qualified products are then packed using export-standard packaging to ensure safety during transportation.
Customized packaging options are also available based on customer requirements.

7. From Factory to Market
By controlling each production step in-house, we are able to supply ceramic dinnerware with stable quality and reliable delivery for international markets.
This production process supports both standard orders and customized OEM projects.
